A “Cultural exchanges” event is taking place on the first floor of Antalya Turkish

Restaurant on Forman Street in Nottingham  this Sunday 19th of August  starting

at 6pm till 9pm.

Ten international volunteers are preparing a buffet of cold food that will represent their country for guests to sample. This Cultural Exchange will also include a demonstration and participation of Bangra dancing, International quizzes and a raffle with a range of great prizes.

French student Sophie Trolliet, who is studying International Relations in Strasbourg is on a Work Placement at the British Red Cross in Nottingham, “One of the reasons why I wanted to organise this event is to highlight the great work that the Red Cross do around the world and especially what they have been doing here in the UK with all the floods.

Sophie aged 25 has been working at the Red Cross for just over two months and already she’s come to understand their fundamental principals and how important it is to raise funds.

“’Cultural Exchanges’ is about gathering different cultures together so that they can get to know each other, share ideas and experiences that I feel is very important.  Tickets are just £5 so I hope people will come and join us on Sunday.”

British Red Cross

The British Red Cross helps people in crisis, whoever and wherever they are. We are part of a global voluntary network, responding to unexpected events from conflicts and natural disasters to individual emergencies. We enable vulnerable people in the UK and abroad to prepare for and withstand emergencies in their own communities. And when the crisis is over, we help them to recover and move on with their lives.
